Developers can avail of the free API kit upon purchasing Interprise Suite. The Interprise Suite API showcases the features that make Interprise Suite tick and lets them be accessible to developers. Creating new applications that work with the Connected Business Platform will be made easier, quicker and more satisfying.
The Interprise Suite API kit contains functions that are used by the application, including thousands of business functions in virtually all business areas such as CRM, Customer, Vendor, Inventory, Banking, Reporting, Calendaring, Email, Accounting, and more. Developers are free to use, inherit or override these functions to create new functions that meet the needs of their application. Also, you can integrate Interprise Suite plug-ins with the latest technologies like Premier POS to increase your application’s potential. The sky’s the limit with regards to the depth of customization. The developer can use the API to create custom programs that extend the existing Interprise Suite application, or create an entirely new application using the CBP as its base.

The figure above shows the Object Browser of Visual Studio 2005 exposing the elements of the Interprise Suite API. It shows the properties, methods, events, etc. included inside the different classes enclosed in the API. The bottom right window displays the characteristics and composition of the various elements within the class.
The use of the Interprise Suite API has other added benefits. The Interprise Suite API business functions can be exposed through Web services, utilizing the Services Orientated Architecture (SOA). This greatly simplifies the creation of remotely based systems such as handheld solutions and phone based solutions since the business logic is contained on the server which feeds the results back to the remote device. Communicating with other applications, however varied, is as easy as connecting to the Web. The Interprise Suite API function set is also convertible to ASP.NET as well. Connections to the Interprise Suite API function set can be made directly to the API itself, or via Web services. This allows CBP developers to create Web-based applications using the same function set as their desktop equivalent whenever appropriate.
The assemblies of the API kit are organized according to the different modular layers within Interprise Suite: Presentation, Facade, Business, Framework and Extendable. Third-party assemblies such as DevExpress Professional which are used in Interprise Suite are not included with the API kit and must be appropriated separately if they will be used for software development.
The API kit is indispensable to developers and integrators for capitalizing on the powerful and robust capabilities of Interprise Suite. |
