Hi there

I am having a  bit of an issue here.

I have added a couple of extra fields to the Suppliers Table and I need to display these in a new tab.

Is there such a walk through to get my head around this.
I can make a plug in, add a tab and all sorts but I can't seem to get the data to display.
I have made a facade, Gateway et al but I must be missing a step and there is no proof that I have done any of the above correctly

Custom Tool Namespace is DatasetCompent, I have the Interprise.Framework.Base.DatasetComponent.BaseDataset set. Yet I can't get the info into the text box at all.

Am I just being dim?

Hi Gareth,

I have a suggestion. If you just need to display in the Supplier Details form the custom fields that you added in the Supplier table, all you have to do is to go to System Manager -> User Role -> Select Role Code, e.g. "Administrator" -> Select Module in this case "Supplier" -> Find Supplier. In the middle of the Supplier form, you'll see the Custom Fields section. Click on the Customize button on the upper right corner of the Custom Fields section, then select Customize Section Layout. The Customization form will pop-up with the list of the custom fields that you added in the Supplier Table. Click and drag the fields that you need into the Custom Fields section. Save the changes. Log out of IS then Log back in. Go to Supplier -> Find Supplier, you will see your custom fields there. It will display and save data without the need for you to code anything.

Hope this helps.

Cheers for that.

That is how I am doing it currently, but it is not the way I want to have it going forward. I need an "Extended" amount of data. There is alot of historic data that isn't covered by the basic table which I need. I was simplifying as once I have the principle idea I can then do the rest of the mods as well.

Good Day Gareth,

There are two paths you may take. Considering you have the sourcecode of IS, you may modify the dataset that holds the supplier tables to include your custom tables, this way you now have access to all the custom fields from whichever tab within the supplier form.

However, if you don't have the sourcecode and want to add information about the custom fields in a separate tab you may try this instead (although it may not allow as much flexibility): reuse the control that holds the custom fields within the custom field section and place it within your additional tab, you may find it at this namespace, Interprise.Presentation.Component.SharedControl.CustomFieldControl.

Hope this meets your needs!
